A Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA) is a systematic review of the processes and areas of a facility where combustible particulates are present. The DHA will identify and evaluate the operation to identify and evaluate fire, flash fire, and explosion hazards. For those scenarios where existing safeguards are not adequate, the DHA provides recommendations to manage the hazard. The recommendations from a DHA will provide actionable insights to mitigate fire and explosion risk.
A Dust Hazard Analysis is required by NFPA 652, and all industry-specific NFPA standards, considered recognized and generally accepted good engineering practice (RAGAGEP) by OSHA.
