It's unbelievable! Chemical Plant Explosion in Spain slays man 3KM away

Many won't believe this, but it's true. A man in Torreforta (Catalonia, Spain) was killed when a heavy metal plate, launched as a result of a chemical plant explosion, hit his apartment building situated 3 kilometres away. This led to the partial destruction of the building. The explosion took place 18:40 local time (17:40 GMT) in La Canonja.

The explosion at the Quimicas del Oxido de Etileno (IQOXE) chemical plant also killed one factory employee instantly. Another worker died later on due to severe injuries. Fortunately, no toxic substances were released during the explosion. In total, 8 employees got injured. Locals said that they saw 'a ball of fire' hit Sergio, the victim's apartment hard, resulting in his immediate death on the spot.

Local officials argued that the incident was caused by an explosion of 20-tonne tank filled with ethylene oxide. They said that now the situation is under control. Meanwhile, the Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's office issued a statement saying that he is in contact with Catalan authorities (an autonomous province in Spain) and the government will offer all the necessary assistance to needy individuals and victims. A spokesperson for IQOXE stated that the company launched a probe into the incident & come out with the truth soon.
