Marketing Executive – New Territories

Location: Winchester, Hampshire

Salary: Competitive Salary plus bonus based on relevant experience

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

As a global and fast expanding business, Sigma-HSE is looking for an experienced technical Marketing Executive to develop business. The candidate will be proficient at relationship development in overseas markets.

The successful candidate will be proactive in developing prospects and leads from our extensive CRM system as well as maintaining relationships with existing clients in the Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Food and Manufacturing sectors.

The applicant will also be expected to liaise with Marketing to co-ordinate the production of technical information for developing new and existing services.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify, research and develop new business opportunities in nominated new territories.
  • Maintain and develop existing client relationships.
  • Follow-up leads from Marketing and BD team.
  • Attend training seminars and support Business Development activities.
  • Provide marketing support co-ordinating technical input for newsletters, sales literature, SEO activities, LinkedIn, Facebook and website.
  • Participate in the development of other international offices for the Sigma-HSE Group.
 

Key Requirements:

  • A graduate in the physical sciences, ideally Chemistry or Physics or Chemical Engineering.
  • Strong technical Marketing track record. For the right candidate, technical training will be provided.
  • Good IT skills including use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Access dbase would be useful but not essential as training will be provided on our CRM system.
  • Good telephone manner and communication skills with both external and internal clients.
  • Ability to work independently and without supervision.
  • Proactive manner in all aspects of business development.
 

Essential Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence essential
  • Candidates must already be authorized to live and work in the UK
  • Candidates must live or be prepared to relocate to within commuting distance of Winchester, UK.

Senior Process Safety Specialist (UK)

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

We are a global business with offices in North America, Europe and Asia. Our company is looking for an experienced process safety engineer to provide expert process safety advice to clients on understanding, reducing and/or mitigating the risks of fires and explosions in the process industry. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake consulting work world-wide and deliver practical and cost-effective solutions to technical safety challenges. The desire to be involved in client development would be particularly advantageous.

Experience and understanding of hazards and risks (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, QRA, DSEAR, etc.) is essential and managing risks (Procedures and policies, management of change, permit to work, asset integrity management, functional safety, auditing etc) would be desirable.

The successful candidate will proactively work with clients on the end-to-end process of identifying, scoping, reporting, follow-up, and auditing of safety projects. Establishing and meeting critical client deadlines and be a capable, and effective communicator and advocate of process safety. The applicant should have a good understanding of regulatory and legislation compliance for safety in the process industries and be aware of changes and updates emanating from national government and the EU. They will be expected to become the primary process safety contact for their clients and partner with them to provide expert advice and guidance on process safety.

Chemist – Regulatory & Thermal Screening Laboratory (UK)

Position: Permanent, Full-time 

Location: Winchester, UK 

Job Description

We are a global and fast expanding business, our company is looking for an experienced laboratory Chemist to work in our Regulatory and Thermal Screening Laboratory.

The successful candidate will undertake chemical processing and testing using thermal screen and calorimetry equipment to provide safety and scale-up data on chemical reactions.

The successful candidate will already have commercial laboratory experience. They will be expected to liaise with clients on the end-to-end process of identifying, scoping, reporting, and follow-up of projects. Agreeing and delivering within critical client deadlines. They will be expected to become one of the primary laboratory contacts for our customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Undertake Chemical Thermal Screening and Chemical Reaction Analysis.
  • Sample preparation and testing
  • Data analysis
  • Report writing
  • Sample chemical receipt and storage
  • Laboratory hygiene
  • Chemical / mixture disposal
  • Liaising with clients on technical testing requirements
 

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Support for our physical properties laboratory.
  • Supporting Business Development with client enquiries.
 

Essential Skills:

  • Graduate Chemist with laboratory experience
  • Good IT proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Good communicator
 

Desirable skills:

  • Experience with HPLC, Particle Size Analyser, Reaction Calorimetry would be an advantage although training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025:2017
  • Maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Confident telephone manner
